The Details
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) can cause a more frequent or uncontrollable urge to urinate, which is often accompanied by erectile dysfunction (ED). According to studies¹, 70% of men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) are also dealing with the symptoms of ED. Combining two different medications, finasteride, and tadalafil, has been shown to be a more effective treatment option than either medication by itself.
What to know about Finasteride + Tadalafil
How it Works
This formulation of finasteride + tadalafil may help by reducing the size of the prostate and increasing urine flow to improve prostate function. Finasteride works by preventing the creation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is one of the causes of BPH. Tadalafil is a common ED treatment but also affects the muscles in the pelvic area, which can help improve prostate function. Tadalafil has been shown to have positive outcomes for men suffering from issues with BPH.
Who is it for?
This combination of medicine is recommended for men dealing with the symptoms of BPH. While finasteride and tadalafil are available on their own, taking both medications in combination have been more effective than either one on its own in symptom reduction.
Effectiveness
Combination therapy² has been shown to improve BPH symptoms over a 26-week treatment course compared to either medication on its own.
